This is the shocking moment a gang of yobs viciously abused and attacked a bus driver after violence erupted in front of horrified passengers on a night service. The gang of foul-mouthed thugs can be seen hurling insults at the driver of the number 23 bus in Birmingham city centre on Saturday night (14/5). At one point, a raging youth grabs the bus driver by his tie before bizarrely head-butting the screen while shouting "f**k you" and "you think you're a bad man". A hooded female thug also joins in the rampage and damages a wing mirror as well as cracking the windscreen by hurling an object at the bus. Other girls can be seen punching and kicking the screen and trying to grab the driver, who incredibly keeps his calm throughout the four minute ordeal. He sounded his emergency alarm twice during the attack as the vehicle was parked up on Smallbrook Queensway but no police can be seen coming to his aid. West Midlands Police confirmed a 17-year-old youth was later arrested and has been charged in connection with the disorder. A National Express West Midlands spokesperson said "There was an incident onboard a National Express West Midlands 23 service on May 14 at Smallbrook Queensway. "Our driver is uninjured but there was some damage caused to our vehicle. This kind of behaviour is totally unacceptable. "Police attended the scene and we will continue to give them every assistance, including CCTV from our vehicle to support their investigations. “National Express West Midlands would like to apologise to anyone whose journey was delayed as a result." West Midlands Police confirmed a teenager had been charged over the incident and appeared in court on Monday (16/5). A force spokesperson said: "A 17-year-old boy has been charged with assault. He is set to appear before Birmingham Youth Court." Footage of the attack was obtained by the blog Birmz is Grime and has been viewed more than 35,000 times after being shared on Instagram.
