On May 16, Prime Minister Narendra Modi travelled to Lumbini in Nepal on the occasion of Buddha Purnima. Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha. PM Modi, in his day-long visit, will participate in many events. PM Modi will hold bilateral talks with his Nepal counterpart Sher Bahadur Deuba. PM Modi took a chopper from Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh, which is where Lord Buddha is believed to have attained nirvana, to Lumbini, where he was born, reported NDTV.
