The birth anniversary of Lord Buddha is celebrated on the full moon day of Vaishakh month. That's why this full moon is called Buddha Purnima. Lord Buddha established Buddhism and gave the message of truth, peace, service to humanity to the whole world. He gave Panchsheel teachings to the world.

वैशाख महीने की पूर्णिमा को भगवान बुद्ध की जयंती मनाई जाती है. इसलिए इस पूर्णिमा को बुद्ध पूर्णिमा कहते हैं. भगवान बुद्ध ने ही बौद्ध धर्म की स्‍थापना की और पूरी दुनिया को सत्‍य, शांति, मानवता की सेवा करने का संदेश दिया. उन्‍होंने दुनिया को पंचशील उपदेश दिए.
