Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Babul Supriyo on Saturday won the Ballygunge assembly bypoll. She won by defeating Communist Party of India Marxist (CPI-M) candidate Saira Shah Halim by 20,228 votes. Supriyo got 51,199 votes, while Haleem got 30,971 votes. Interestingly, Haleem beat BJP's Kea Ghosh, who got 13,220 votes. Congress's Kamaruzzaman Choudhary got 5,218 votes. After the defeat in the assembly by-election, Saira Shah said that, she is not ashamed at all that she lost the election.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Babul Supriyo ने शनिवार को बालीगंज विधानसभा उपचुनाव में जीत हासिल कर ली है। उन्होंने Communist Party of India Marxist (CPI-M) उम्मीदवार साइरा शाह हलीम को 20,228 वोटों से हराकर जीत हासिल की है। सुप्रियो को 51,199 वोट मिले, जबकि हलीम को 30,971 वोट मिले। दिलचस्प यह है कि हलीम ने भाजपा की केया घोष को पीछे छोड़ दिया, जिन्हें 13,220 वोट मिले। कांग्रेस के कमरुज्जमां चौधरी को 5,218 वोट मिले।विधानसभा उपचुनाव में मिली हार के बाद साइरा शाह ने कहा कि, उन्हें इस बात की बिल्कुल भी शर्म नहीं है कि मैं चुनाव हार गई।
