The Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary, Curiak Island Research Station in South Borneo Province welcomed the birth of a baby Proboscis Monkey on April 9, 2022.

The sanctuary is managed by the Indonesian Proboscis Monkeys Foundation (SBI) with Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) and the local government.

The rare born of the known-as-Bekantan Monkey is the first birth in the sanctuary in 2022. See more in the video.
