he Patiayam Archaeological Site is located in the Patiayam Mountains, Kudus Regency, Central Java Province.

At this site, around 1,500 fossils were found.

Some of the fossils are stored in the locals' houses, and some are preserved at Ronggowarsito Museum, Semarang.

Quoting Wikipedia, the Patiayam site was part of Mount Muria, which covers a 2,902-hectares area.

This archeological site has intact fossils because the place is covered by volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Muria.
