Giant hail the size of GOLF BALLS battered Sebring, Florida on Monday (03/04).

A resident of the sunshine state took to Twitter to share a video of the extreme weather.

They said: “I just got hit by hail in Florida!”

Severe storms have caused hail storms and torrential rain across the entire state.

The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for the Fort Myers area, warning of hail and strong wind gusts after videos emerged of hailstones causing damage to cars and buildings.

Florida has the highest level of thunderstorms in the United States but rarely hail, as it melts before it reaches the ground.
