President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s Talk to the People Heroes Hall, Malacañan Palace April 5, 2022
resident Rodrigo Roa Duterte holds his regular Talk to the People in Malacañan Palace where he convenes several of his Cabinet members to discuss various issues of national concern, as well as the latest developments on the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic in the country.
The President conveys his gratitude for the continuous decline in the number of COVID-19 cases in the country, and urges those who haven’t received their jabs to get inoculated with the massive rollout of COVID-19 vaccines. He also adds that in consideration of the vaccines’ shelf life and to ensure maximum utilization, the government may implement additional measures to reach more vaccinees nationwide.
In a report by the Department of Health (DOH), data recorded on 4 April 2022 shows that the positivity rate in the country went down to 1.8%. On COVID-19 trends in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) from January 2022, the Philippines remains in the lower rankings, which translates to better response against the pandemic.
The DOH calls on the public to continue following minimum health standards and reiterates the importance of receiving COVID-19 vaccines as additional protection against any variant, especially amid the emergence of the XE variant.
