Mulayam Singh Yadav's brother Shivpal Yadav was also a participant in the struggles to establish the Samajwadi Party. The party which he had watered a lot together with Netaji .. and kept rubbing his heels for more than 2 decades to strengthen the party in the state. When that Shivpal fell apart in 2017, he was seen very sad. To keep his political existence alive, he also formed his own separate party. But even after that, he could not get rid of his attachment with the SP.

समाजवादी पार्टी जिसे स्थापित करने के संघर्षों में मुलायम सिंह यादव के भाई शिवपाल यादव भी भागीदार रहे। जिस पार्टी को उन्होंने नेताजी के साथ मिल कर मिल कर खूब सींचा था.. और जिस पार्टी को प्रदेश में मजबूती दिलाने में 2 दशक से ज़्यादा वक्त तक एड़ियां रगड़ते रहे। वो शिवपाल 2017 में जब अलग-थलग पड़े तो खूब दुखी दिखाई दिये थे। अपना राजनीतिक वजूद जिंदा रखने के लिये उन्होंने अपनी अलग पार्टी का भी गठन किया। लेकिन उसके बाद भी वे सपा से अपना मोह नहीं छुड़ा पाए थे।
