However, the biggest feature of this fast is that married women keep this fast hidden from their husbands (Does not tell husband about fast). The husband does not have to tell anything about the fast and even the prasad offered to the puja is not given by the women to the husband. Gangaur fast is especially observed by the women of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh and on this day Gangaur Mata i.e. Mother Parvati is worshiped with rituals.

हालांकि इस व्रत की सबसे बड़ी खासियत ये है कि सुहागिन महिलाएं इस व्रत को पति से छिपकर रखती हैं . पति को व्रत के बारे में कुछ भी नहीं बताना होता और यहां तक कि पूजा का चढ़ाया गया प्रसाद भी महिलाएं पति को नहीं देती हैं. गणगौर का व्रत खासतौर पर राजस्थान और मध्य प्रदेश की महिलाएं रखती हैं और इस दिन गणगौर माता यानी माता पार्वती की विधि-विधान के साथ पूजा की जाती है.
