Consumer rights awareness among Malaysians still have room for improvement, says minister

Malaysia's score of 63.1% in the consumer empowerment index (CEI), showed consumers' awareness of their rights were still mediocre.

Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said that at the launch of the national level World Consumer Rights Day on Saturday (March 26), added that the ministry will continue promoting initiatives to raise the people's awareness, such as providing platforms for consumers to do price comparison and sales, filing complaints and referring their complaints to the consumer tribunal.
