Federal MP and former elite solder Andrew Hastie has told a Sydney Court he pities Ben Roberts- Smith after being subpoenaed to give evidence at the war veteran's defamation trial. Mr Roberts-Smith is suing three newspapers in the federal court claiming a series of articles published in 2018 contained false allegations of unlawful killings, bullying and domestic violence.
