The news of Malaysia inking vaccine procurement deals with pharmaceutical companies have been overshadowed by the question of how long it will take for these vaccines to be approved. Director-general of Health had said that regulatory approval for the vaccine could take between 3 to 4 months, but though the ministry is aiming for less than 90 days. This comes a day after Singapore already received its first shipment of vaccines -- a week after it had issued regulatory approvals -- as has many countries around the world. Are we behind the curve?
