The Indian Air Force, also known as Bhartiya Vāyu Senā in Devanāgarī is the Air Wing of the Indian Army. Indian Air Force is one of the largest air forces in the World with more than 17 Lakh Armed Personnel. Established on 8 October 1932, The President of India Heads the IAF as the Commander-in-Chief. The primary objective of IAF is to safeguard and Defend India from all threats by assisting the Indian Ground troops and Marines from air.

The IAF was initially formed by the British India on 8 October 1932 to assist the Royal Air Force under the Indian Air Force Act 1932. It was known as the Royal Indian Air Force until India became a republic in 1950. Since then, the IAF have fought against the Neighboring Countries of The Peoples Republic of China and Pakistan. IAF is also one of the active participants in UN's peacekeeping Force
