Stranded non-Ukrainians fleeing Russian conflict complain of ‘racism’ at the border

Nearly half a million people have fled Ukraine so far since the Russian invasion of the country began on February 24, 2022, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Most of the refugees have been heading west to Poland, with others entering Hungary, Moldova, Romania and beyond. Foreign nationals have been among those trying to escape the fighting. Some of them allege that they were badly treated while trying to cross the border from Ukraine.
