In an exclusive interview with India Today, Russian chess grandmaster Garry Kasparov stated that the invasion of Ukraine is a "war of Europe's own making." He further said that if Vladimir Putin is successful, "Taiwan" could be next.

Asked if Russian President Vladimir Putin is acting in Russia's national interests, Garry Kasparov said, "I see it as an insult to Russia and all Russians. It is the same as saying that Adolf Hitler or Mussolini or Stalin acted in the interest of their respective countries."
