The motion will also call for the Prince to relinquish his title as Duke of York in the wake of this week’s settlement of his legal battle with Virginia Giuffre. On Tuesday, the Prince – who is 62 today – agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to Ms Giuffre as part of an out-of-court settlement. In the civil case against him in the US, Ms Giuffre had been suing the Duke for damages, claiming he sexually assaulted her on three occasions when she was 17 – which he has repeatedly denied. Andrew’s dukedom is one of his last remaining major titles after the Queen stripped him of his honorary military roles and he gave up his HRH style.
