On Tuesday, the Duke of York agreed a settlement with Ms Giuffre, meaning he will not face a jury trial in the civil case on sexual abuse claims. Ms Giuffre accused the royal of sexually abusing and raping her on three separate occasions when she was 17. Andrew vehemently denied all accusations. In a joint statement after the settlement was agreed, Andrew expressed regret about his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein and confirmed that he will make a "substantial donation" to Ms Giuffre’s charity in support of victims’ rights. They said they would file a request to dismiss the case when the undisclosed sum had been received. It contained no admission of liability and no apology from the Duke. I ...
