Prosecutors began a US corruption trial on Monday (Feb 14) by accusing Roger Ng, Goldman's former head of investment banking in Malaysia, of seeking to make millions of dollars laundering money looted from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
In overcoming their claims, the defendant faces an "uphill battle," in the words of one legal expert.
