On Aaj Tak's special ode to the Nightingale of India - Shradhanjali Tum Mujhe Bhula Na Paoge, Singer Udit Narayan recalled that Lata Mangeshkar gave him a gold chain on his birthday and also gave him the title 'Prince of Playback Singing.'

"It was December 1, which was my birthday. Someone might have told her that today is Udit Narayan's birthday. Harish Bhimani was the announcer. She gifted me a gold chain and asked Harish Bhimani to give me the title - Prince of Playback Singing," he said.
