Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on February 11 urged the Central government to release journalists Fahad Shah, Sajad Gul and Siddique Kappan who have been arrested on various charges.

Addressing in Lok Sabha, Tharoor said, “I have raised the issue of press freedom in Parliament. Journalists are being arrested for doing their job. 2 Kashmiri journalists have been arrested. This is a really dangerous situation. The government should release journalists and let them do their work.”
