मौनी अमावस्या 1 फरवरी 2022, मंगलवार को है। हालांक‍ि मौनी अमावस्या तिथ‍ि का प्रारंभ 31 जनवरी 2022 को दोपहर करीब 2 बजे से हो रहा है। लेक‍ि‍न सूर्य उदया तिथ‍ि 1 फरवरी होने से स्‍नान और दान का योग इस द‍िन है। मौनी अमावस्या पर मौन धारण कर स्नान करने का विधान है। धार्मिक मान्यताओं के अनुसार मौनी अमावस्या के दिन मन और वांणी पर विराम रखते हुए स्नान कर प्रभु के नाम का स्मरण करने से सभी मनोकामनाएं पूर्ण होती हैं और वैकुण्ठ लोक की प्राप्ति होती है। इस दिन पीपल के पेड़ व भगवान विष्णु की विधिवत पूजन भी काफी महत्वपूर्ण माना जाता है। स्कंद पुराण में वर्णित एक कथा के अनुसार बिना व्रत कथा पाठ किए किसी भी व्रत को पूर्ण नहीं माना जाता।

According to religious beliefs, on the day of Mauni Amavasya, taking a bath while keeping a pause on the mind and speech, all the wishes are fulfilled and Vaikunth Lok is attained. The worship of Peepal tree and Lord Vishnu on this day is also considered very important. According to a story mentioned in Skanda Purana, no fast is considered complete without reciting the fast story.
