Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick off a virtual event today for the BJP and will interact with the party workers in Varanasi, his home turf, via Namo app at 11 am. The Uttar Pradesh unit of BJP announced the initiative on Twitter and invited people to offer their thoughts and comments using the app. In another story, the Election Commission of India has imposed a ban on physical rallies and roadshows till January 15 in light of the Covid-19 situation. In a stern message, the CEC said that the poll body will take action against officials who fail to act against violations.
