Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking a reconsideration of the Centre’s decision to exclude the state’s proposed tableau from the Republic Day parade to be held in New Delhi on January 26.

In her letter, Banerjee said that she was “profoundly shocked” after the decision and more so because the tableau “was rejected without assigning any reasons or justifications.”
