On 4 January, five tribal students, who are national-level athletes representing Chhattisgarh, reached Kotwali police station in the state's Bijapur district around the time night set in. The students handed out a written complaint seeking action against two of their coaches. Their complaint? The coaches habitually beat them up and use casteist slurs against them.
