There has been an exponential rise in COVID-19 cases in Mumbai in the recent week. During the first two waves, Mumbai was seen as the centre of COVID-19 infections, registering the highest number of cases among large cities. Now as the third wave appears, Mumbai is once again breaking all the records.

In the last wave, the Delta variant caused havoc in the city and this time, the threat of the Omicron variant is looming. As compared to the previous wave, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is better prepared and has made elaborate arrangements to deal with COVID-19. BMC Additional Commissioner Suresh Kakani talks to The Quint about the administration's action plan to deal with COVID-19 in Mumbai.
