On being asked about Goa’s plan of handling tourists in the Christmas season, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on December 24 appealed to people to follow Covid protocols and take precautions even in their high festival spirit.

Commenting further on the Omicron situation in the state, the CM said, “Samples of 28 people including those from 'at risk' countries were sent for genome sequencing. Nine of the samples have returned negative for Omicron but positive for the Delta variant of coronavirus. Results of 19 samples are awaited.”
