The TMC hit out at the Congress in the editorial of its party mouthpiece ‘Jago Bangla’. The headline of the editorial read ‘Congress in deep freezer’.

The piece argued that the Congress’ energy had fizzled out and the party had gone dormant. Hence, the need of the hour to defeat the BJP is an alternative coalition, the editorial said.

"The country today needs a coalition of opposition forces and that onus has been handed to the TMC supremo by the opposition, because she is the most popular and most acceptable opposition face. Everyone is looking up to her," it stated.
