When Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu refused to consider Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge's appeal to revoke the suspension of 12 MPs. Naidu said the House is empowered to take such decisions under sections 256 and 259. Opposition parties such as the Congress, NCP, DMK, SP, Left, RJD, AAP walked out of the Rajya Sabha in protest over the suspension of 12 MPs. TMC, however, didn’t walk out.
