Heavy downpour left several areas in the silk city waterlogged. Not just Berhampur, after incessant rainfall for two days, many places in Ganjam district suffered the same fate. Rainwater also entered premises of bank in Chhatrapur. Of the 22 blocks affected in the district, maximum rainfall (212mm) was witnessed in Purushottampur block. Crops in acres of land were also damaged following this unseasonal rainfall.
