The Prime Minister says, a new anti-viral drug to treat mild-to-moderate COVID-19 won't be approved for use in T&T, until it's approved by the World Health Organisation.

The drug has been approved by the relevant authority, in the United Kingdom.

However, Dr Rowley says, it appears the drug "may have some potential."

And, with anticipation that the W.H.O approval is forthcoming the Health Ministry is already negotiating with manufacturers and/or suppliers.
