At least 24 people have died and many others have fallen ill after consuming suspected spurious liquor in Bihar's Gopalganj and West Champaran districts in the last two days. Eight people died after allegedly consuming liquor on November 4 in Telhua village of Bettiah, the headquarters of West Champaran district, while 16 people died on November 4 in another incident of suspected spurious drinking in Gopalganj, while the district Officials have confirmed six more deaths.

बिहार के गोपालगंज और पश्चिमी चंपारण जिलों में पिछले दो दिनों में संदिग्ध जहरीली शराब पीने से कम से कम 24 लोगों की मौत हो गई है और कई अन्य बीमार हो गए हैं. पश्चिम चंपारण जिले के मुख्यालय बेतिया के तेलहुआ गांव में 4 नवंबर को कथित तौर पर शराब पीने से आठ लोगों की मौत हो गई, जबकि गोपालगंज में संदिग्ध नकली शराब पीने की एक अन्य घटना में 4 नवंबर को 16 लोगों की मौत हो गई, जबकि जिले में अधिकारियों ने छह और मौतों की पुष्टि की है.
