Govardhan Puja is performed on the Pratipada of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month on the second day of Deepawali. On this day Govardhan Parvat and Lord Shri Krishna are worshipped. This festival is especially celebrated in UP. Cows are also worshiped on this day because Lord Krishna had a lot of love for cows. On the day of Govardhan Puja, idols of Shri Krishna and Govardhan are worshiped by making cow dung and they are offered annakoot, curry, rice etc. Because of this, this festival is also called Annakoot. दीपावली (Deepawali) के दूसरे दिन कार्तिक मास की शुक्ल पक्ष की प्रतिपदा को गोवर्धन पूजा (Govardhan Puja) की जाती है. इस दिन गोवर्धन पर्वत और भगवान श्रीकष्ण को पूजा जाता है. यूपी में ये पर्व खासतौर से मनाया जाता है. इस दिन गायों की भी पूजा की जाती है क्योंकि भगवान श्रीकृष्ण को गायों से बहुत ज्यादा प्रेम था. गोवर्धन पूजा वाले दिन गाय के गोबर से श्रीकृष्ण और गोवर्धन की प्रतिमा बनाकर पूजन किया जाता है और उन्हें अन्नकूट, कढ़ी, चावल आदि का भोग लगाया जाता है. इस वजह से इस पर्व को अन्नकूट भी कहा जाता है. इस बार गोवर्धन का पर्व 5 नवंबर को मनाया जाएगा. यहां जानिए इस पूजा की पूजन विधि.
