#NehaSahgal is an associate director at the #Pew Research Center, specialising in international polling on #religion.
She speaks with Sidharth Singh of Newslaundry about Pew’s recent study on religious tolerance and segregation in India which she co-authored.
One of the study’s more significant findings, she says, is that while “respect for other religions is a key national value” for many Indians, a lot of people from the majority community believe that to be “truly Indian” it is very important to be a Hindu.
