A SOCIAL media influencer has received a shocking retro-style makeover. Julia, 21, is an online influencer who studies and lives in Leeds, UK. Her style used to be very tame, but a couple of years ago she decided that life is too short to be ‘boring’, and so she stepped outside of her comfort zone leading to an increased following on her social media platform. Julia told Truly: “When it comes to Instagram, there is always a pressure to kind of be perfect. You’ll get DMs saying, ‘You've gained weight’ or ‘You look really ugly’. People make assumptions and stereotypes about me, all just based on the way that I dress. In the beginning, it was very difficult not to take it to heart, but I've gotten really good at ignoring it.” When Julia expanded her wardrobe choices, it led to her taking inspiration from past eras - she often wears elements of 70’s style but felt that she has never been able to fully nail the look. Julia has now been given a glamorous, 70’s makeover - from go-go boots to Charlie’s Angels flicked up hair to fulfil her dream. “Something I might be nervous about is if the clothes aren’t flattering for my body.
