Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu tweeted copy of his resignation letter as minister from the Punjab cabinet on Sunday, saying, "My letter to the Congress President Shri Rahul Gandhi Ji, submitted on 10 June 2019." Siddhu was stripped of the portfolios of local governments and tourism and culture on June 06. While speaking to ANI on the issue, BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli said, “Sidhu was showing distrust on our Army. If Navjot Singh Sidhu has resigned, the reason should have been asked from the Congress party.”
