Sepang MP Mohamed Hanipa Maidin accused Najib of hurting the country's economy due to his involvement in the 1MDB scandal and therefore does not qualify for special treatment.

Last week, Najib convinced the Court of Appeal to temporarily return his passport to allow him to visit his daughter Nooryana Najwa who is due to deliver her second child.

Initially, Najib sought temporary release of his passport from Oct 20 to Nov 22.

After the Malacca state elections was set for Nov 20, Najib amended his notice of motion to extend the return date to Dec 12.
