The Court of Appeal today allowed the applications by former prime minister Najib Razak and his son Mohd Nazifuddin for an interim stay of the summary judgment obtained by the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) for them to pay more than RM1.7 billion in tax arrears pending their leave to appeal at the Federal Court.
A three-member bench of the Court of Appeal led by judge Azizah Nawawi granted the stay after hearing submissions by counsel Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, representing Najib and Nazifuddin, and IRB deputy solicitor, Dr Hazlina Hussain.
