Thousands of Afghans who helped foreign troops were forced to flee as the Taliban retook control. Some of them have now arrived in Fremont, California. The city has the largest Afghan diaspora in the US. Official counts have found as many as 5,000 Afghans in the area known as “Little Kabul,” but the unofficial and probably more accurate number is closer to 30,000.
