Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home Ajay Misra's son Ashish Misra appeared before the special investigation team (SIT), created by Uttar Pradesh Police to probe the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, on Saturday. In its FIR on the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, Uttar Pradesh Police has stated that Ashish Misra alias Monu was sitting in the car that mowed down protesting farmers last week.
