In the wake of paddy procurement delay, farmers of Punjab and Haryana, angry over the extension of the date have taken to the streets. Hundreds of protesting farmers tried to launch gherao at the houses of MPs and MLAs as well as the residence of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in Karnal. The protesting farmers became so furious that tractors were mounted on the barricades. However, the security forces deployed to control the farmers. During this, the police also had to lathi-charge. The police used water cannons to control the outrageous farmers. The farmers say that until the government does not purchase paddy, the protests and demonstrations will continue. Watch this video.
