The Ministry of External Affairs refused permission to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to travel to Italy for an all-faith peace meeting organised by the Community of Sant'Egidio which is a Rome-based Catholic foundation. Yesterday, Banerjee accused the centre of jealousy after she was denied permission.
