Lil Nas X's debut
album, 'Montero,'
dropped on Sept. 17.
When he released the tracklist earlier this month, many people wondered why he didn't feature any Black men on the album but did collaborate with Black women.
"Maybe a lot of them just don't wanna work with me," he said in response.
Lil Nas X seemed to say that some people may not want to work with him because of his sexuality.
The rapper came out as gay in 2019 and has received backlash from the hip-hop community.
In fact, rapper Boosie used slurs against him and threatened to "beat [Lil Nas X's] a--.".
In a recent piece for 'Time' magazine's
"100 Most Influential People,"
Kid Cudi praised Lil Nas X.
