In today's episode of News Today, Rajdeep Sardesai interviewed Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Dr P Thiaga Rajan, who explained why states were opposing the proposal to bring petroleum products under the GST regime. 

P Thiaga Rajan said that since the onset of the GST era, only alcohol and petroleum-related products were left under the ambit of state taxation. Thus, GST on petroleum products will majorly affect the states' revenue generation, the Tamil Nadu finance minister said.
