Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year Awards 2017 :Niteen Joshi, is the president of Brihan Maharashtra Mandal, an umbrella organisation of all Maharashtra Mandals in the USA and Canada. Mr Vishnu Vaidya, Ms Jayashree Huparikar and Mr Sharad Godbole founded BMM in 1981 with the motto of bringing together the Marathi population in the North American continent. Despite being a cultural organization, social consciousness plays an important role at BMM. When Maharashtra was hit with the terrible drought situation devastating lives of innumerable farmers, BMM took up an initiative to help the farmers and raised substantial amounts of money. The biennial convention, a flagship activity of BMM over last 35 years, offers an excellent opportunity to entrepreneurs and businesses from Maharashtra to showcase their product and services by participating in the business conference
