Under the aegis of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), a massive 'Kisan Mahapanchayat' in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar kicked off on Sunday where the farmers' body launched 'Mission Uttar Pradesh-Uttarakhand' to give a boost to their protest against Centre's farm laws. Important announcements related to the Kisan morcha's Bharat bandh call were also made at Sunday's mahapanchayat. Thousands of farmers from 15 states gathered at the Government Inter College (GIC) ground in Muzaffarnagar to participate in the mahapanchayat aimed at "saving the country", just months ahead of the crucial UP assembly polls. Bhartiya Kisan Union National spokesperson Rakesh Tikait stated that these meetings will be held across the country. We need to save farmers and the country and stop the country from getting sold.
