Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the Tamil Nadu government has banned erecting Ganesh idols in public spaces and conducting public processions and immersions. The government has allowed celebrations only in individual households. Following the announcement, the Hindu Munnani held prayer protests outside temples in Tamil Nadu to protest against the DMK government’s ban.
