जन्माष्टमी का नाम सुनते ही लोगों के दिमाग में भगवान श्रीकृष्ण का ससुराल घूमने लगता है. कुदरकोट को श्रीकृष्ण की ससुराल माना जाता है. कुदरकोट का नाम पहले कुंदनपुर हुआ करता था. भगवान कृष्ण द्वारा देवी रुक्मणी का हरण होने के बाद उनके भाई ने यहां हाथियों से लोगों को कुचल डाला था. इस घटना के बाद इसका नाम कुदरकोट पड़ गया. लोगों का कहना है कि यहां बने मंदिर की एक खास और अलग पहचान है.

After the abduction of Goddess Rukmani by Lord Krishna, her brother had crushed people with elephants here. After this incident, its name was Kudarkot.
