People in flood-hit areas of Bihar's Hajipur and Saran are facing a lot of problems as their houses and agricultural fields have been inundated. People in Hajipur have shifted to safer places, leaving behind their belongings. Floodwater has damaged crops in Saran leaving farmers in distress. On August 18, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took stock of flood-affected regions of Khagaria and Bhagalpur. Nearly 26 districts in Bihar have been affected by floods due to incessant rainfall.
