Amid heavy rainfall in parts of Japan, around 2 million people have been asked to evacuate their houses. Highest-level rain warnings have been issued at various places, including Fukuoka and Hiroshima. Authorities have issued immediate evacuation alerts in seven regions, including the northern parts of Kyushu island. Announcements come after the Japanese Meteorological Department predicted rainfall and mudslides in Kyushu, Hiroshima & other areas. At least 1.8 million were urged to vacate their residence under a non-compulsory alert, public broadcaster NHK reported. Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga urged local government bodies to cooperate and act quickly on rescue and aid efforts.
